Why I changed industries…

From biological sciences to life insurance, what happened there? Read more about my journey, interests, and motivations.

As a University of British Columbia Vancouver graduate with a Bachelor in Science, I moved back to my childhood home of Calgary and hoped to continue my professional career in the familiar industry of ecology and teaching. However, it was shortly after my move that a family member of mine fell ill suddenly and rapidly. I saw firsthand not only the benefits of having active policies but also how having a genuinely caring relationship with clients is necessary. Fortunately, I was encouraged to try to be that source of stability and solutions for other people by other agents and mentors.

I was immediately hooked. Even though I wouldn’t be performing “scientific research” as I had previously assumed, I was instead entering a domain where I could transfer skills to actively and consistently help protect and secure the futures of those around me. Protecting income, securing the future, and advising on options at better prices with your own goals at the forefront.

I entered the field out of a passion to create meaningful connections and genuinely help clients -- just in the way my own family needed. I am thrilled to be part of your journey, I am here to work for you.
